SONY VIDEO CAMERA PRO ILME FX6 BODY
Maximum performance thanks to the BIONZ XR image processor and the Exmor R CMOS sensor.
The BIONZ XR image processor that Sony has equipped the new FX6 with is qualified for the necessary high-speed reading that the full-frame sensor performs thanks to its undeniable capabilities. Designed, developed, and created to remain competitive in performance for a long time, it offers high-quality images more quickly and enhances the responsiveness of the Cinema Line camera's feature set. These features manage to minimize latency in the camera's response across its various aspects when working. A full-frame sensor with an effective resolution of 10.2 megapixels of extreme sensitivity and an ISO expandable up to 409600, with a dynamic range that reaches 15 stops.
4K recording at 120 frames per second and high precision in AF with eye tracking.
The new Sony FX6 allows recording at 120 frames per second while maintaining autofocus. The high-precision AF system enables achieving an attractive bokeh on the full 35 mm frame during slow-motion recording, allowing us to express creativity in our work that matches our imagination. For sharp and precise results in the automatic focus function for moving subjects, especially with protagonists with unpredictable movements such as news reporting, events, and documentaries, the incredible and renowned Eye AF in real-time and facial detection AF features have been integrated. The real-time processing capability with the BIONZ XR processor automatically maintains precise focus on the eyes, even for faces positioned in profile to the sensor. The fast hybrid autofocus combines phase detection autofocus on the focal plane with contrast detection autofocus.
Excellent mobility and usability.
The FX6 has a robust magnesium alloy body, measuring only 116 x 153 x 114 millimeters and weighing just 0.89 kilograms. With this compact and lightweight design, it is ideal for spontaneous recordings. A heat dissipation structure ensures that the camera's components do not overheat, even during prolonged recording times. At the same time, the FX6 features a modular design, allowing users to easily combine it with accessories such as grips and viewfinders, or connect it to gimbals and drones.
Autofocus on the FX6
At Sony, autofocus is an important aspect to consider. They want everyone to be able to trust the autofocus. This is something reflected in the Sony FX6 camera. So you can adjust it the way you want. You can make use of Real-time Eye Autofocus, Touch Tracking Autofocus, Fast Hybrid Autofocus, and you can adjust the sensitivity according to your preferences.
Operation and expansion for professionals
Lightweight, modular, and robust
Despite its lightweight (0.89 kg), the magnesium alloy of the FX6 is more than durable enough to withstand the challenges of the real world. Additionally, the smart, detachable, and adjustable grip with a single button puts key functions at your fingertips.
Mobility to shoot in seconds
The smart handle, ideal for capturing from low angles, is part of the modular design of the FX6. It is easy to reconfigure for any application, such as mounting it on gimbals, drones, or underwater housings.
Magnesium body and frame that provide strength and lightness
To perform in challenging environments, the main body, covers, and top handle are made from a lightweight magnesium alloy tested in a production setting. The main frame combines robustness, strength, lightness, and mobility.
Design against shutdown due to overheating
The custom design of the ventilation system and chassis helps prevent shutdowns due to overheating when working with high frame rates and 4K (QFHD) resolutions. The number of heat sinks, the shape of the ventilation outlets, and the location of the quiet fan have been precisely calculated to ensure optimal ventilation.
10-bit 4:2:2 recording
Record directly in-camera with the amazing detail of 10-bit depth and 4:2:2 color sampling, to enjoy far greater flexibility in grading, post-processing, and image composition.
All-Intra coding available
In addition to Long GOP, internal All-Intra encoding is now included, which encodes each frame at bit rates of up to 600 Mbps, to capture complex movements with greater precision and allow for more efficient editing.

16-bit RAW SDI output
The most demanding post-production workflows rely on 16-bit SDI RAW output compatible with external recorders while capturing XAVC-I files in-camera. The RAW video output is 4096 x 2160 or 3840 x 2160 from the image sensor, with frame rates of 59.94, 50, 29.97, 25, 24, or 23.9810.
Capture modes for creative workflows
The FX6 includes capture modes with predefined looks, such as S-Cinetone, which creates stunning images directly in the camera, or S-Log3 / S-Gamut3 with Cine-EI mode, which captures perfectly exposed images to streamline post-production.
On-site quick change scene file
4 types of scene files for SDR capture (S-Cinetone, standard, photos, and ITU709) and 2 for HDR capture (HLG Live, HLG Natural), in addition to 16 slots for user-imported 3D LUTs to apply your favorite look without post-production.
Surprising handle and smart grip
The smart and ergonomic handle and grip from Sony adjust with a single button and, thanks to the zoom and recording controls, assignable control buttons, and an iris dial, allow for comfortable work for hours.
Professional connectivity
You have access to various professional interfaces, including 12G-SDI and HDMI outputs, a remote interface, connectors for multi-camera synchronization, and 5 Gbps SuperSpeed USB (USB 3.2) to streamline workflows.
Multiple Interface Shoe (MI)
The Sony Multi Interface Shoe (MI) integrates power, signal, and switching connections for compatible Sony accessories, including wireless microphone systems like the UWP-D21 or UWP-D2212.
