An extraordinarily precise autofocus system with 273 phase-detection autofocus points capable of locking focus and tracking subjects moving at high speeds, such as trains or unpredictable animals, located anywhere in the frame. With this high-speed BIONZ X™ image processor and the new autofocus algorithm, the FDR-AX700 achieves unprecedented speed, precision, and flexibility in the new range of Handycam®.

Wide autofocus coverage
With a maximum of 273 phase-detection autofocus points covering approximately 84% of the image area, the stacked Exmor RS™ CMOS sensor enables precise subject tracking throughout the entire capture frame.

Fast autofocus response
The fast hybrid autofocus system with the BIONZ X image processor processes data from the phase-detection autofocus sensor in a wide area for high-speed focusing, even with moving subjects.

Depth range autofocus tracking
Choose from the 5 AF tracking depth options: from "1" [ESTRECHO] for tracking slow subjects without shifting focus to other subjects, to "5" [AMPLIO] for tracking fast-moving subjects.

Objective ZEISS® Vario-Sonnar® T*
Optics ZEISS Custom-tailored for precision to deliver all the beauty of 4K, with sharp details at all times, thanks to the use of advanced aspherical (AA) and extra-low dispersion (ED) glass elements. The 29mm wide-angle allows for capturing large landscapes, or you can get a closer view with up to 12x optical zoom and 24x clear image zoom.

The varied range of customization options and color space include S-log2 and S-log3 profiles that professionals use for greater creative flexibility in post-production workflows. Additionally, with variable frame rate recording up to a maximum of 960 (NTSC)/1,000 (PAL) fps, you'll observe an extraordinary level of detail in slow-motion videos.

Two slots
Two slots for SD and SD/Memory Stick™ cards allow for simultaneous and relay recording. Use the relay mode when long recording sessions need to use both cards, or for critical recordings, the simultaneous recording mode provides a backup, offering greater flexibility in client and production workflows.

Large zoom lever
The large zoom lever gives you full control over your focal length and the entire zoom range. Zoom as slowly or as quickly as you need, with smooth, controlled, and precise results at all times.

Puerto LANC
The built-in LANC port allows connection to a LANC-compatible accessory, enabling easy remote control of the camcorder.

S-Gamut and S-Log recording
The S-Gamut and S-Log recording provides you with the versatility needed to create more expressive videos with the possibility of color grading during post-production. The S-Log3 and S-Log2 gamma offer shooting with a wide dynamic range (up to 1,300%) to minimize blown-out highlights and crushed blacks.
