It features Sony's original Nano AR Coating technology, designed to effectively suppress reflections that can cause flashes and ghost images. Three control rings (for zoom, focus, iris) offer manual control for demanding large format productions. the focus mode can be changed from automatic to manual by simply sliding the focus ring forward to maintain control at all times. the zoom speed can be precisely controlled over a wide range, with the ability to reverse the direction of rotation of the zoom. the three control rings have been designed to provide the ideal torque for comfortable and sensitive operation. even the tone of the scallop in the rings has been designed for comfortable, non-slip control

Sony's advanced iris control and linear AF motor drive system achieve a quiet approach that is also extremely sensitive. Part of the reason why focus control is so quiet is that the original Sony linear motors have no contact, no gears and no mechanical coupling to generate noise
