Complementing the imaging capabilities, the lens has a Hyper Sonic Motor to produce a fast, smooth and quiet autofocus with full-time manual focus override. The physical design uses thermally stable composite material for durability in a wide range of environments, and a brass bayonet mount also offers rigidity and mounting accuracy.

As part of the Art line of Sigma's Global Vision series, this lens is designed for truly remarkable optical performance and is ideal for creative and artistic applications.

The standard wide-angle lens is designed for Sony E-mount frameless cameras with full frame, however it can also be used with APS-C models where it will provide an equivalent 52.5mm focal length.

The maximum aperture f / 1.4 bright is well suited for working in low light conditions and also provides greater control over the focus position when using shallow depth-of-field techniques.

One FLD element and four SLD elements are displayed in the optical design, and help reduce color fringes and chromatic aberrations for greater clarity and color accuracy.

Two aspherical elements reduce distortion and spherical aberrations for improved sharpness and accurate representation.

A super multi-layer coating has been applied to the lens elements to minimize lens flare and ghosting, and helps produce images with contrast and neutral color, even under backlit conditions.

The rounded nine-leaf diaphragm contributes to a soft and pleasant bokeh quality.

The integrated HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) performs fast, quiet autofocus, complemented by an optimized AF algorithm to produce smoother focusing performance. The HSM also allows full-time manual focus control by simply turning the focus ring at any time.

The lens is constructed using a thermally stable composite material (TSC), along with traditional metals, for greater accuracy and use in wide temperature variations.

The bayonet mount is constructed of brass to ensure accuracy and durability. In addition, rubber sealing is incorporated into the mounting design to make it dust and splash resistant.

Estoy usando esta lente en una Sony a7III. Debo decir que la calidad de imagen es excelente en todas las aperturas de diafragma. La construcción es robusta y bien terminada. Las pegas que le veo son las siguientes: AF lento y un poco ruidoso, no está sellado como otras lentes de Sony y es pesado. De momento estas pegas compensan en elegir esta lente con respecto a la equivalente en Sony, que vale el doble.
