26.0MP Exmor R CMOS sensor and BIONZ XR processor
The advanced imaging system of the Sony a6700 is powered by the 26MP APS-C Exmor R CMOS sensor and the BIONZ XR processor, a combination introduced in the FX30 digital cinema camera that is capable of UHD 10K 4-bit images at up to 120 fps or a maximum continuous shooting speed of 11 fps with AF and AE and up to 59 compressed RAW still images in bursts. The introduction of the back-illuminated structure in the camera's sensor provides higher resolution without sacrificing sensitivity. With an ISO range of 100-32000 that can be expanded to ISO50-102400 when taking photos, the camera offers low-light performance with minimal noise and more than 14 stops of dynamic range.

• The full pixel readout of the 6K sensor creates high-quality 4K UHD video, with approximately 2.4 times the data required for 4K video, minimizing moiré and aliasing.

• UHD 4K recording is possible with frame rates of up to 120p and Full HD recording of up to 240p, using full pixel readout 1:1 without binning.

• Record in 10-bit 4:2:2 using the advanced XAVC HS and XAVC S-I formats to achieve consistent performance and quality at bit rates of up to 600 Mb/s.

• Record for more than two hours in 4K 30p, or more than 40 minutes in 4K 60p on a 128GB card.

• The Slow and Quick (S&Q) mode allows recorders to capture 4K video in specific steps between 1-120 fps and Full HD between 1-240 fps, depending on the format. These settings will enable you to slow down the action, as well as speed up a slow-motion scene.

• S-Cinetone can be used to offer distinct colors and a healthy-looking skin tone representation based on the technology of professional Cinema Line cameras, such as the VENICE. This color profile provides natural mid-tones, soft colors, and particularly well-controlled highlights.

The AI processing unit of the Sony a6700 brings a series of enhanced capabilities to the camera's autofocus and image stabilization systems, ensuring smooth handling and clarity regardless of shooting conditions. The camera's 759 phase-detection points in still image mode and 495 points in video mode, covering 93% of the image area, have been improved with AI-driven subject recognition performance and real-time tracking. Other autofocus features include focus bracketing in up to 299 images with sequentially changed focus points, low-light focus accuracy up to EV -3.0, focus breathing compensation, autofocus assistance, focus mapping, and focus peaking during autofocus.

AI-enhanced framing compatible with Vlog
Additionally, the AI processing unit recognizes and tracks subjects while recording video, automatically cropping seamlessly to keep the subject in a prominent position in the frame and ease camera work that would otherwise be difficult. This tracking can be customized within the frame and the speed and sensitivity can be adjusted, all with the touch of a finger.

Image stabilization
The camera's 5-axis in-body pixel-level optical image stabilization system compensates for five different types of camera shake encountered during handheld shooting of still images and video. It is algorithmically optimized for detection and precision control down to a single pixel. The AI processing unit also enhances communication between the body and lens, providing more stable framing before shooting. This allows users to confidently use any lens, even adapted lenses, to capture critical images without encountering blur from camera movement.

Body design and connectivity
