Prime 25mm f / 2.8 is designed for Canon full mount digital reflex cameras, however it can also be used with APS-C models where it provides an equivalent focal length of 40mm.

Developed specifically for macro photography, this lens is designed for use within a magnification range of 2.5:1 to 5:1 to produce images larger than actual size. This lens does not offer infinite focus.

When at a magnification of 5:1, the lens has a minimum focusing distance of 6.8 "together with a working distance of 1.6", which allows enough space to illuminate the subject. At position 2.5: 1, a minimum focusing distance of 9.2 "together with a working distance of 1.8" is possible.

The wide-angle design benefits the high-magnification design by providing greater depth of field compared to telephoto or long lens designs.
