Rollei has once again intensively addressed each of these three seemingly contradictory requirements: the Rollei Compact Traveler No. 1 Carbon literally revolutionizes the conventional design of tripods. The tripod legs, which can be extended in four directions, can be rotated 180 degrees, allowing for an astonishingly small package size of just 33 cm. Combined with carbon, a high-tech, very stable, and lightweight material, the total weight of the Compact Traveler No. 1 is less than 1 kilogram, over 980 g, so even the professional travel photographer does not need to store it in their luggage. The carbon of the Rollei travel tripod is also responsible for the impressive load capacity of 8 kg, which corresponds to a weight/load ratio of 1/8. The swiveling legs of the tripod even allow for macro photography at ground level, which would otherwise require additional equipment.

The Chip magazine has already tested the compact travel tripod. The professional and independent test was conducted in the tripod category. The Rollei Compact Traveler No. 1 Carbon stood out against high-priced competitor tripods with a GOOD quality rating. Particularly praised was the high stability despite the very lightweight. The only drawback is that when the center column is fully extended (second element fully extended), stability is somewhat reduced under heavier weight and in wind gusts.

The measured values showed a stability of 98% in windy conditions with the center column retracted. When the center column is fully extended and exposed to the wind, the measured value falls to 87%. However, this is a sensational value for a travel tripod that weighs only 980 grams.
