SP (Super Performance)

SP stands for Super Performance, Tamron's high performance class. These are objectives that our engineers were free to work on until they achieved the optimum performance characteristics in each case. Take your camera to new heights, give it a Super Performance.

IF system (internal focusing)

The extended target length changes when focusing and the closeness adjustment limit is considerably shortened along the entire focus range.

VC (vibration compensation)

The VC Image Stabilizer provides sharp pictures without blurring or vibration, plus a secure viewfinder image.

USD (Ultrasonic Silent Drive)

A high-powered ultrasonic motor for fast and dynamic imaging. Allows silent, accurate and manual manual control at all times.

Super Performance

Tamron's Super performance series is a range of lenses that meet the most demanding requirements.

LD (low dispersion)

Lens element for sharper images and correction of chromatic aberrations.

EBAND coating

Nanostructured improvement layer to avoid reflections and distortions.

XDL glass (extra low dispersion)

A special glass with an extremely low colour dispersion index for maximum sharpness and to compensate for chromatic aberration.

Zoom Lock Mechanism (ZL)
