The Sony FE 24mm f/1.4 GM offers incredible F1.4 resolution in a mobile prime lens. Cutting-edge technology achieves refined G Master performance with consistently high resolution and smooth, natural bokeh, even at the highest aperture setting of F1.4. The lens is compact and lightweight, maximizing portability. It also offers fast and precise AF motor, level control, and reliability.

Two XA (extreme aspherical) elements in an optical design that meets the strict requirements of G Master contribute to consistently high resolution across the entire image range. Three ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass elements are also included to effectively suppress chromatic aberrations. This innovative optical design minimizes sagittal flares to the point where light sources are reproduced accurately. A new optical design incorporating two precision XA elements suppresses sagittal flares, a common aberration in large-aperture lenses. Sagittal flare can cause unwanted distribution of light sources that becomes more pronounced towards the image periphery.

A new optical design that reduces the overall diameter of the lens by using two XA elements, one for the front element, which is usually the largest in a lens, is combined with the newly developed DDSSM (Direct Drive SSM) focus motor system to achieve an incredible weight of only 445 grams. The reduced weight and size of this lens make it ideal for compact E-mount bodies, providing outstanding portability.
