This compact and lightweight lens measures only 92 mm in length, has a diameter of only 73 mm and weighs only 510 grams, data difficult to imagine with conventional technologies, but achieved thanks to XR technology. Among the F/2.8 constant aperture zoom lenses over the entire focal length, this is the smallest and lightest in the world (*). Usually, the fast Zoom lenses are not used as standard zoom lenses because of their weight and size that makes them less portable.
