  • The maximum aperture of f / 2.8 helps achieve a compact and lightweight design while still being fast enough to work in available light conditions.
  • Three extra-low dispersion elements reduce color stripes and chromatic aberrations to produce greater clarity and color reproduction.
  • Three aspherical elements and two elements of high refractive index control spherical aberrations and distortions to improve sharpness and resolution.
  • An Ultra Multi-Coating has been applied to individual elements to reduce flashes and ghost images to increase contrast and neutral color balance.
  • The STM integrated linear autofocus engine works in conjunction with Sony camera focus systems for fast, quiet and precise AF control. Manual focus override is also available to refine your focus position.
  • The internal focus design maintains the total length of the lens and prevents the front of the lens from rotating during use.
  • The included sun visor helps prevent parasitic light from causing flashes and ghosts.

Offering an ultra-wide field of view, Samyang's Sony E-mount AF 18mm f / 2.8 FE is also distinguished by its especially compact and lightweight design. The wide-angle rectilinear design is very suitable for landscapes, architecture and interior objects, as well as being suitable for astrophotography applications. Its optical design includes a series of aspherical elements, with a high refractive index and extra low dispersion, which reduce a variety of aberrations to produce well-controlled, sharp and clear images. Ultra-multiple coating has also been applied to individual elements to suppress glare and ghost images to improve contrast and color accuracy. In addition, the lens STM linear autofocus engine works in conjunction with Sony camera AF systems for fast, quiet and precise focus performance, and manual focus override is also available for more refined control.
