Combining a classic look with modern performance, the Nikon Zfc checks all the boxes on a content creator's wish list: a sleek and stylish retro design, impressive image quality with the flexibility of the Z mirrorless system, and optimization for vlogging and video applications.
The Zfc is a DX-format mirrorless camera with a 20.9 MP CMOS sensor, combined with EXPEED 6 image processing to achieve fast shooting performance of up to 11 fps, UHD 4K video recording at 30p, and sensitivity up to ISO 51200. Despite its classic appearance, this camera is updated for contemporary content creation and features a fully articulated touchscreen LCD, supports live streaming, is compatible with external microphones, and has an advanced 209-point AF system with full-time subject tracking and eye-detection AF.

Focusing on physical design, the Zfc stands out as a clear nod to the classic heritage of Nikon's SLR film cameras, featuring several familiar physical controls on the body, including dedicated dials for adjusting ISO, shutter speed, and exposure compensation. The body also includes a 2.36-million-dot OLED electronic viewfinder and is compatible with SnapBridge wireless connectivity for pairing with a mobile device for remote camera control. In addition to benefiting outdoor shooting and longer shots, the Zfc also supports in-camera battery charging and on-the-go power via the USB C port.

20.9 MP DX-format CMOS sensor and EXPEED 6 image processor
The 20.9 MP DX-format CMOS sensor is paired with the EXPEED 6 image processor to provide a versatile combination of high sensitivity, nuanced image quality, and fast overall performance. With native values, a sensitivity range of ISO 100-51200 allows for work in a wide range of lighting conditions and can be further expanded up to ISO 204800 for extreme low-light conditions. The combination of resolution and sensor size also contributes to clean image quality and smooth color transitions with reduced noise throughout the sensitivity range. In addition to benefiting image quality, the EXPEED 6 processor also delivers great speed across the camera system, including a maximum full-resolution continuous shooting rate of 11 fps.

In addition to image capture, the sensor design also incorporates a 209-point hybrid autofocus system, which uses phase detection and contrast detection methods to acquire focus quickly and accurately for both still images and video applications. This focus system also supports Eye Detection AF, which uses facial recognition to help lock focus on the subjects' eyes.

UHD 4K video recording
Capable of recording more than just photographs, the Zfc supports UHD 4K video recording at up to 30 fps and Full HD recording at up to 120 fps for slow-motion effects, along with the ability to save video files to the camera's memory card. It's also possible to shoot time-lapse in-camera.

Heritage design with intuitive features
Precisely carved aluminum dials with engraved markings and mechanical controls for shutter speed, ISO, and exposure compensation. Intuitive functions also allow easy access to automatic mode, quick settings, and the menu help guide.

Body design and connectivity

• A large 3" LCD screen with 1.04 million dots is available for bright, clear, and vivid image playback and live view shooting. The screen has a vari-angle design, which benefits front-facing selfie captures, and it is also a touchscreen for more intuitive operation, navigation, and setting control.

• A 2.36 million-dot electronic viewfinder is present for comfortable eye-level viewing. It has a 1.02x magnification and uses NIKKOR optics to ensure a sharp and clear image.

• A robust magnesium alloy chassis is dust and weather resistant to benefit from working in adverse climates and conditions.

• Integrated SnapBridge connectivity enables seamless transfer of low-resolution images, as well as remote shooting capabilities. BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) and Wi-Fi allow communication between the camera and a smart device, and additionally, the mobile device can remotely trigger the shutter and display a live view image from the camera to facilitate remote work.

• Live streaming and web conferencing through a separately purchased USB Type-C cable.

• The 3.5 mm stereo mini-pin connector provides plug-in power.

• The included EN-EL25 rechargeable lithium-ion battery provides approximately 300 shots per charge.

• Compatible with NIKKOR Z lenses, as well as F-mount lenses that use the FTZ mount adapter, which is sold separately.
