Iconic design that inspires elite performance
The most powerful entry to date in Nikon's digital throwback line, the creator-inspired full-frame Zf Mirrorless camera, once again proves that good style never goes out of fashion. While the camera body design revives the cinematic functionality and steel feel of old SLRs, its interior is equipped with the latest features and capabilities from the Z series, making the iconic silhouette of the Zf a modern and tactile shooter that uses its advanced technology to deliver timeless images.

Immersive and intuitive design
Recalling the FM2, Nikon's mechanical workhorse of yesteryear, the machined edges, knurled dials, and mottled texture of the Zf are designed to fully immerse the user in the sensual experience of operating a beautiful machine. Made from precision-carved aluminum, the shutter speed, ISO, and exposure compensation dials feature engraved markings for superior manual control. The mechanical shutter fires with an audible and authoritative click. A dedicated black and white mode is also available with two monochromatic recipes at the tip of a finger.
This intuitive and tactile design is not only applied to the camera's retro-style controls. The camera's electronic viewfinder, housed in a prism-shaped casing that is as pleasant for the orbital bone as it is for the eye, can now be manipulated by touching the rear 3.2" vari-angle LCD screen, allowing the user to move focus points, select a subject to track, and toggle between display modes while the eye remains pressed against the viewfinder. The rear screen is also fully articulated and front-facing, allowing for easy navigation and operation at high and low angles.

• Dual slots for memory cards offer flexible file storage capabilities; one SD and one microSD allow for overflow, segregated, and repetitive saving options.

• A robust magnesium alloy chassis is resistant to dust and weather, allowing it to work in harsh climates and inclement conditions.

• Compatible with the optional MC-N10 remote control and the AR-11 soft release.

24.5 MP FX-format BSI CMOS sensor
A 24.5 MP BSI CMOS sensor is used for capturing panoramic shots, providing impressive image quality in low light conditions and fast readout speeds to benefit continuous shooting, movies, and interval recording. The sensor's back-illuminated design also offers notably clean high-sensitivity output to reduce noise when working with high ISO values. Additionally, the Zf features a high-resolution photography mode that combines multiple exposures to create a single 96MP file.

EXPEED 7 image processor

• Using the same powerful processing engine found in the Z9 and Z8, the camera's EXPEED 7 image processor works in conjunction with the sensor design to achieve incredibly fast AF speeds, burst shooting speeds, high buffer capacity, smooth video performance, and quick display throughout the entire handling process.

• Enhanced with deep learning technology, the camera features an automatic mode that analyzes your shooting situation and automatically adjusts the aperture, ISO, and shutter speed to match your intentions. With this setting, you can automatically capture portraits with a beautiful blurred background or have all faces in focus for a group photo.

• Extremely fast burst speed of 30 fps with a silent mechanical shutter and burst speed of 14 fps with a mechanical shutter.

• The pre-launch capture records up to 30 JPEGs per full second before the shutter is opened.

UHD 4K recording and versatile video control

• The new shutter priority exposure mode allows you to shoot with a fixed shutter speed, making smooth adjustments to ISO and aperture to maintain consistent brightness in your shot.

• Coinciding with the high-end photographic attributes of the camera, the Zf offers a variety of frame rates and resolutions for all your video needs. With oversampling from 6K, UHD 4K video recording is possible with full pixel readout up to 30p, and Full HD 1080p video recording is also supported up to 120p for slow-motion playback.

• Internal recording of up to 125 minutes directly onto a memory card with 10-bit H.265 in SDR/HLG/N-log tone modes.

Fast and intelligent AF

• Like the Z9 and Z8, the autofocus system of the Zf recognizes a wide range of common subjects (people, cats, dogs, birds, bicycles, motorcycles, cars, airplanes, and trains) and uses deep learning technology to provide exactly the correct focus and tracking for each.

• Eye-detection AF for photos and videos automatically locks onto the eyes of people, pets, and birds, even when they are extremely small in the frame. For the first time, the feature is also available for manual focus lenses, automatically enlarging the area around the eyes so you can quickly confirm sharp focus.

Vibration reduction
The integrated 5-axis sensor shift vibration reduction compensates for up to 8 stops of camera movement when combined with Z-mount lenses, allowing you to slow down the shutter speed by up to 8 stops more than would be possible without causing blurry images. Additionally, this system also works with adapted F-mount lenses when using the optional FTZ adapter, where 3-axis stabilization is used.
The focus point vibration reduction system applies stabilization to the area around the active focus point, wherever it is in the frame, providing precise correction exactly where you need it.
