With a specially elegant design, the Nikon Z50 is a DX-format mirrorless digital camera that revolves around the versatile Z mount. Capable in both still images and video, the Z50 features a 20.9 MP CMOS sensor and EXPEED 6 image processor, enabling fast performance of up to 11 fps, a reliable 209-point hybrid AF system with eye detection, and remarkable low-light performance with an ISO of 51200. For video recorders, UHD 4K is supported at up to 30 fps along with Full HD recording up to 120 fps for slow-motion playback. To adjust your photos and videos, you can use the in-camera clip trimming, and the 20 creative picture controls and 10 special effects settings help infuse your images with a unique look.
The body design is impressively sleek yet ergonomic to benefit shooting all day long. A high-resolution 2.36 million-dot OLED electronic viewfinder benefits working in bright conditions with clear eye-level viewing, and the rear 3.2" LCD touchscreen features a 180° tilting design perfect for selfies. The magnesium alloy body is also weather-sealed to suit working in harsh conditions. Additionally, for easy sharing, the built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth work alongside the Nikon SnapBridge app to wirelessly transfer photos and videos and remotely control the camera from your mobile device.

20.9 MP DX-format CMOS sensor and EXPEED 6 image processor
The 20.9 MP DX-format CMOS sensor is paired with the EXPEED 6 image processor to provide a versatile combination of high sensitivity, nuanced image quality, and overall fast performance. With native values, a sensitivity range of ISO 100-51200 allows for working in a wide variety of lighting conditions, and it can be further expanded to ISO 204800 for extreme low-light conditions. The combination of sensor resolution and size also contributes to clean image quality and smooth color transitions with reduced noise across the sensitivity range. In addition to benefiting image quality, the EXPEED 6 processor also offers great speed throughout the camera system, including a maximum full-resolution continuous shooting speed of 11 fps, as well as 30 fps shooting at 8MP.
In addition to image capture, the sensor design also incorporates a 209-point hybrid autofocus system, which uses phase detection and contrast detection methods to acquire focus quickly and accurately for both still images and video applications. This focus system also supports Eye Detection AF, which uses facial recognition to help lock focus on the subjects' eyes.

UHD 4K video recording
Capable of recording more than just photographs, the Z50 supports UHD 4K video recording at up to 30 fps and Full HD recording at up to 120 fps for slow-motion effects, along with the ability to save video files to the camera's memory cards or an optional external recorder via HDMI output. In-camera time-lapse recording is also possible, with the capability to produce a finished UHD 4K video file directly from the camera.

Body design and connectivity

• A large 3.2" LCD screen with 1.04 million dots is available for bright, clear, and vivid image playback and live view shooting. The screen has a 180° downward tilting design, which is beneficial for front-facing selfies, and it is also a touchscreen for more intuitive operation, navigation, and setting control.

• A 3.6-million-dot electronic viewfinder is present for comfortable eye-level viewing. It has a magnification of 1.02x and uses NIKKOR optics to ensure a sharp and clear image.

• The individual SD memory card slots support up to the UHS-I protocol for quickly storing photo and video files.

• A robust magnesium alloy chassis is dust and weather resistant to benefit from working in adverse climates and conditions.

• Integrated SnapBridge connectivity enables seamless transfer of low-resolution images, as well as remote shooting capabilities. BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) and Wi-Fi allow communication between the camera and a smart device, and additionally, the mobile device can remotely trigger the shutter and display a live view image from the camera to facilitate remote work.

• The included EN-EL25 rechargeable lithium-ion battery provides approximately 300 shots per charge, and in-camera charging is supported when using the optional EH-73P charging AC adapter.
