The top part of the Nikon Z fc features three dials and a small window that allows you to see the aperture. The dials control the shutter speed, exposure compensation, and ISO sensitivity, making it very easy to change settings. Additionally, the i button and i menu, which allow users to quickly change a wide variety of settings with just the press of a button, can be customized according to each user's shooting preferences.
For the first time in a Nikon Z series camera, the Nikon Z fc allows users to adjust exposure compensation in automatic mode, enabling them to achieve the desired expression by increasing brightness, enhancing silhouettes, and more. The camera also features 20 Creative Picture Control options that allow for unique expressions. Users can select themes with different parameters such as tone, hue, and saturation, allowing them to express a wide range of moods and adjust effects to their liking.

The Nikon Z fc supports eye-detection AF and animal-detection AF in both still images and video capture, features that were originally introduced in the Nikon Z 7II and Nikon Z 6II. Continuous focus on the eyes of the desired subject can also be achieved when there are multiple people in the frame or when tracking the eyes of a moving pet.

The SnapBridge app can be used to transfer photos and videos taken with the camera to a smart device**, allowing users to easily share them on social media. The latest camera firmware can also be obtained through the app.
The Snapbridge application version 2.8, which features a new user interface, now supports two automatic connection modes: foreground mode and background mode. The foreground mode only connects to the camera when the application is active, reducing battery consumption. The background mode maintains a constant connection and automatically transfers images even when the application is not active.
