To find the best microphone, you need to know what you want to use it for and choose between the types that best suit your needs. For a microphone to be considered of excellent quality it should have a maximum sound pressure of around 150 dB, a self-noise level below 35dBA, a sensitivity value close to 1V/µbar and an impedance greater than 15,000 ohms.
