The optical construction of the Laowa Argus 25mm f/0.95 MFT APO consists of 14 elements in 8 groups with 1 aspherical lens, 1 ED glass piece, and 3 UHR glass pieces. The extra-low dispersion glass, aspherical lens, and ultra-high refractive glass are claimed to not only offer sharp and crisp images but also minimize chromatic aberration.

The Laowa 25mm f/0.95 MFT APO features an internal focusing design that is said to result in low focus breathing. The lens also has a very long 300° focus throw.
