LAOWA 85MM F5.6 2X ULTRA MACRO APO - F/SONY FE
The Laowa 85mm f/5.6 2x Ultra Macro APO is a mirrorless design macro lens with a 28.55° angle of view for full frame. It is the smallest 2x macro lens on the Full Frame market. It weighs around 252 g (Leica M mount without caps and hood), which is super portable and useful for macro shooters. It features an apochromatic (APO) characteristic where chromatic aberration in both "defocused" and "out of focus" areas is minimized. This new lens is capable of focusing from 2:1 magnification to infinity, making it suitable as both a macro and portrait lens with great image quality.
The Laowa 85mm f/5.6 2x Ultra Macro APO is specially designed for Full Frame mirrorless cameras. It is also the most compact 2x macro lens on the market. Weighing only 259 g (9.12 oz), the lens offers photographers a wider range of creative flexibility. The APO design allows this lens to produce minimal CA images that are pleasing. It relieves photographers from the heavy burden of gear.
Moving away from the traditional bulky heavy macro lens, Laowa makes this 85mm lens revolutionary small. Built specifically for full-frame mirrorless cameras with a smaller f/5.6 aperture, the new 85mm macro lens weighs only about 259 g (9.1 oz, Sony E) and measures Φ53mm×81 mm (2.09"x3.18", Sony E). It's perfect for photographers seeking an extremely lightweight setup, like the one used in a Bioblitz. This lens would perfectly match the portable mirrorless camera body, making macro shooting very easy while rendering images with excellent and outstanding image quality.
This new 85mm lens can focus from infinity to 2x magnification along with a minimum focusing distance of 16.3 cm / 6.41". With 2x magnification, smaller-sized objects can be easily captured while retaining more details. The lens remains flexible and versatile in different shooting circumstances.
The newly designed optical structure of 13 elements in 9 groups contains 3 extra-low dispersion elements that eliminate color fringing in both focused and out-of-focus areas. Rendering stunning enlarged images without chromatic aberration would be an additional convenience for photographers, as it saves a lot of time and effort in post-production.
