Capturing the subtlest nuances of light and shadow begins with the lens. Only with excellent resolution and color reproduction can a solid foundation for image creation be provided. A medium format sensor has a large area and high pixel density, which places strict requirements on lens precision. Starting with the selection of high-quality glass, Hasselblad engineers carefully polish each lens to perfect its optical quality and meet the 100 million pixel resolution requirements.
The XCD 2.5/55V lens features nine elements in eight groups, including two aspherical elements, one ED element, and a specially designed large-diameter aspherical element. With a carefully designed arrangement, the lens not only has a compact size but also enhances light transmission and suppresses chromatic dispersion. Combining the XCD 2.5/55V with a Hasselblad mirrorless medium format camera produces stunning results.

NEW FOCUS MODULE: FAST, LIGHT, PRECISE
The improved focus module adopts a linear stepper motor and a lighter and smaller focus lens group. These changes effectively eliminate any backlash from the lens group movement and, together with the X2D 100C's PDAF technology, mean that the focus lens group can quickly reach the focus position and achieve precise stopping. The result is fast, flexible, and precise focusing.

SMALLER LEAF SHUTTER, POWERFUL AND PROFESSIONAL SUPPORT
The leaf shutter is a powerful component in the Hasselblad medium format system. The XCD 2.5/55V lens is equipped with an improved leaf shutter that, although smaller, maintains the same precision performance as its predecessors and is fast and silent to avoid disturbances when shooting. Additionally, this ultra-small shutter captures up to 1/2000 s and offers flash synchronization at all speeds.

A FAMILIAR YET NEW INDUSTRIAL AESTHETIC
The XCD 2.5/55V is a precisely manufactured metal lens with a newly added focus ring and control ring.
Both rings are delicately engraved with the Hasselblad "H" logo. The design is created with a precise 0.3 mm drill bit and is a nod to the memorable look of HC/HCD lenses. Whether paired with X-system or 907X cameras, this new lens is a tribute to the past and stands out on its own as a unique and elegant statement.

CONVENIENT AND INTUITIVE CONTROL
The lens is designed to feel comfortable and intuitive in the hand to fully support and not distract from the creative process. The tactile mechanics of the focus and control rings are fine-tuned for a smooth and satisfying experience. With just a push and pull of the focus ring, you switch from AF to MF mode, where intuitive scale marks keep the focus distance and DOF clear at a glance. The control ring can be customized for quick access to preferred functions, making shooting more convenient and efficient.
