Designed as a reference lens for the M-mount system, the Summilux-M 50mm f / 1.4 ASPH black. Leica's is a versatile cousin-normal length characterized by its brilliant maximum aperture and sophisticated optical design. Consisting of eight elements in five groups, the lens features an aspherical element to reduce spherical aberrations and both anomalous partial dispersion and high refractive index glasses are used to control color stripes and color aberrations for clarity. Additionally, a floating element system is used to maintain consistent image quality throughout the focus range, up to 2.3 '. Additionally, the lens features a built-in extendable hood and is threaded to accept 46mm screw filters.
The versatile full-length prime lens features a bright and fast maximum f / 1.4 aperture to control depth of field for selective focus techniques, as well as to benefit working in low light conditions.
An aspherical element is incorporated into the optical design, along with anomalous partial dispersion and high refractive index glass elements, to control aberrations and distortions in all aperture and focus positions.
A rear floating element is used to maintain consistent performance throughout the focus range, even at the minimum focus distance of 2.3 '.
The built-in extendable hood shades and protects the front element to reduce flare and ghosting of the lens. Also, the front of the lens is threaded to accept 46mm screw filters.
