The dual flash tubes can be varied independently, in a six-point ratio, offering different light styles, using the two tubes uniformly for a shadow-free effect, or allowing one tube to illuminate more than another to emphasize textures. The Macro Ring Lite MR-14EX II flash head can be rotated around the lens so that the dominant light comes from any angle.
The output power, with a guide number of 14 (ISO 100, m), allows small apertures to be used to maximize depth of field in close-ups. Color temperature information is transmitted back to the camera during image capture, helping to optimize white balance.
The Macro Ring Lite MR-14EX II can be used as an optical wireless master in a multi-flash lighting configuration, firing the Speedlite flashes configured in slave mode. This is useful when, for example, a second flash is used to illuminate the background.
Recycling, fast and quiet, lets you be ready to shoot at the right time. The Macro Ring Lite MR-14EX II will be ready for re-use in 5.5 seconds after a full discharge. The self-cleaning shoe with two-line electronic transmission ensures a proper connection to the camera.
