In digital photography, protective filters play a particularly important role. A greater depth of field due to small sensors increases the influence of contamination on the front lens in image quality. Especially with zoom lenses with lower light intensity, fingerprints, for example, have a significant effect on sharpness. Frequent cleaning of the front lens can not only leave scratch marks but also carry dirt particles or moisture at the edge of the socket into the interior of the lens system.

They can always remain in front of the lens, as they are absolutely color neutral, still of the highest transparency, and with extremely low reflection due to the B+W MRC or B+W MRC nano coating.
