With this filter the (invisible) UV component of the sky is avoided, which can cause a blurred image and in some color films can react with a blue emission. UV filters are ideal for photography at high altitudes (in mountains), by the sea and in regions with very clean air. The images gain brightness and avoid annoying blue ones. Because the glass is colorless, the color version is not altered, thus removing unwanted blues and increasing exposure is not mandatory. This makes UV a UV a must. This makes UV a blue version, and in some color films it can react with a blue emission.
