As the name "Switch" suggests, Westcott has introduced a line of modifiers designed for quick setup and swapping between different brands of strobes and flashes in seconds. The 24" Switch beauty dish is a good choice for full-length portraits, fashion, or on-the-road work. The problem with metal beauty dishes has always been transportation and the large, cumbersome cases used to protect them from bumps and dents. Westcott avoids all that by giving the dish a lightweight (1.9 pounds) and collapsible design that opens and folds in seconds like an umbrella. The Beauty Dish Switch has all the advantages of rigid dishes: that characteristic soft yet crisp light quality that is very flattering for hair, fashion, makeup, and simple portraits. Another advantage is the reflection of natural-looking catchlights in the subject's eyes.

As mentioned earlier, the Beauty Dish has a basic ring to hold it together, but instead of full speed rings, there are 13 "inserts" available for a flash or 12 different brands of strobes. The quick-release thumb lock on the Beauty Dish Switch ensures the safety of your light. In addition to the speed benefit, the dish is structurally solid with a durable metal frame and heat-resistant fabric. The dish has an interior deflector plate that bounces light backward and distributes it throughout the dish, thus defeating the hot spot. It also comes with a sliding front diffuser for those who want to further soften the light quality. Its material has been thoroughly tested and proven to be neutral, ensuring true color reproduction. A carrying case is included for storage and transport. Optional accessories include a 40° grid to narrow and control the antenna beam's spread.
