Description

Premium wide-angle lens made up of 10 elements in 8 groups based on the Distagon design. 4 of the elements are aspherical on both sides and 5 of them are made of special glass. the aspherical design of the lenses ensures consistent high image quality throughout the field, from center to corners. 82° vision of the lens and its short minimum focusing distance of 20 cm make the Batis 25 f/2 a fundamental tool for architecture, landscape and many other fields. the results in approach photography are simply amazing.

The exterior design of the Batis 25mm f/2 reminds us of the Otus laureates, although with much more restrained dimensions.

The automatic focusing system is fast and precise and the level of detail and contrast, the usual in Zeiss, is outstanding. On the other hand, the optics with full compatibility with the manual focusing system aids of the Sony Alpha 7 and takes full advantage of their sensors. If that were not enough, this objective adds another novelty:

instead of the classic depth-of-field scales, Zeiss has incorporated an ingenious OLED screen into the barrel that indicates the focus distance and depth-of-field, taking into account the selected diaphragm and point of focus.

The motor of focus, in both objectives, is linear, it confers to the system speed and precision, besides being very silent.

The filter thread is 67 cm. The lens is provided with sealed gaskets to protect it from dust and moisture.
