The Samyang linear Stepping Motor (STM) provides the necessary torque force for fast, precise, and quiet autofocus tracking, thus maximizing the advantages offered by Sony's E-mount camera technology. Compared to the previous version, this new AF 85mm F1.4 FE II is optimized for both photography and video recording, minimizing vibration and noise. The AF, which follows the subject quickly and precisely, also operates quietly and smoothly when recording video. Samyang's linear STM satisfies both photographers and videographers with quieter and more precise control of the focusing lens groups.

Extraordinary central resolution
The 4 high refractive (HR) glass elements and one extra-low dispersion (ED) element of the new AF 85mm F1.4 FE II provide impressive contrast and resolution. Its central resolution is superior to that of other comparable lenses. Thanks to Samyang's advanced patented coating technology, the AF 85mm F1.4 FE II maintains excellent image sharpness even in low light conditions and provides a clearer image with an improved Color Contribution Index (CCI).

Offers extremely clean and beautiful bokeh
The AF 85mm F1.4 FE II is the only FE mount lens that does not feature a single aspherical lens. Using aspherical glass to enhance optical performance can create concentric circles that "dirty" the bokeh, which is a negative factor in its evaluation. The AF 85mm F1.4 FE II does not include any aspherical glass elements, and therefore it has pure and beautiful bokeh!

Modern design and weather-sealed for moisture protection
The AF 85mm F1.4 FE II has been developed and improved, considering both its design and the user's shooting environment. It features a rubber focus ring with a microscopic pattern, an elegant silver ring, a hidden red ring, and a matte finish that is very pleasant to handle. Additionally, its weather sealing (in 7 susceptible areas) protects the lens from light rain, snow, and dust.
