The G9 II, the first Lumix camera in the G series to offer hybrid phase AF for fast and precise autofocus performance, uses new AI-driven recognition technology for real-time autofocus recognition that now recognizes cars, motorcycles, and animal eyes to improve subject recognition accuracy. The camera also features 75 fps burst shooting with a pre-burst shooting function, allowing you to go back in time up to 1.5 seconds, so you can capture the perfect moment.

Designed for high-speed and high-resolution images, the G9 II comes equipped with a 25.2 MP Micro Four Thirds Live MOS sensor and an updated processor to create sharp and detailed still images and cinematic-quality DCI 4K and UHD 4K video. This setup maximizes resolution while keeping noise to a minimum, delivering realistic color tones and three-dimensional realistic images. Additionally, the G9 II features a handheld high-resolution mode that compiles multiple exposures to create a single 100 MP RAW or JPEG file.

4K video recording features and video recording assistance

• Beyond taking photographs, the G9 II is a high-capacity video camera that offers unlimited recording of up to DCI 4K and UHD 4K 60p with 10-bit 4:2:2 color. For videographers who want to create high-resolution slow-motion video, the camera also supports C4K/4K 120p video capture with 10-bit 4:2:0 color.

• The frame indicator function surrounds the frame with a red border while recording, helping you avoid mistakes such as forgetting to press the record button.

• Simplifying the process of converting anamorphic videos to vertical videos for social media, the Frame Marker function allows you to record video while envisioning the field of view when cropping it in post-production.

• The AWB Lock mode locks the automatic white balance to optimize efficiency in situations where the light source is variable indoors due to a mix of artificial and natural light, or in situations where manual adjustments based on color temperature would have been required.

• The vertical position information function detects the vertical orientation of the video, allowing you to choose whether or not to add the vertical position video information from the menu.

• An advanced focus transition function automatically shifts the focus point at a constant speed to achieve precise focus points inward and outward, providing you with the impressive rack focus effect of moving images.

Professional-level video versatility

• V-Log has been pre-installed in this camera and is used to capture a flat and neutral gamma curve, and an equivalent dynamic range of 13+ stops provides precise control of color data in post-production, as well as seamless editing with footage recorded with VariCam cameras.

• With the Lumix G9 II, recording and playback are compatible with an external SSD via USB. Furthermore, it has the capability to record ProRes 422 HQ and 4:2:2 All-Intra 10-bit directly onto an SSD, which combines portability and high capacity to enhance efficiency in data backup and post-processing.

• It is compatible with the ProRes 422 codec, which offers exceptional image quality with low compression. This significantly reduces the load on your computer during post-production and allows for non-linear editing without transcoding, streamlining your workflow from start to finish.

Hybrid phase AF system
The G9 II is the first mirrorless camera in the Lumix G series to adopt a phase hybrid AF system, offering 779 phase detection points to provide fast and precise focusing for exceptional AF accuracy. When it comes to autofocus, reliability is paramount, and with phase detection AF, you can fully complement and track the subject in six different situations that have so far been challenging for conventional systems to capture. Whether taking photos or videos, this means the G9 II persistently captures the desired subject in difficult scenes involving multiple people in backlit or low-light environments.

5-axis sensor-shift image stabilization and Dual I.S. 2

• In order to achieve maximum sharpness when working without a tripod, the Dual I.S. It combines 8-axis sensor-shift image stabilization technology with the camera's 5-stop rating with 2-axis lens-based image stabilization to compensate for a wider range of motion types to produce sharper and clearer images. Dual I.S. 2 requires the use of compatible Lumix lenses with O.I.S. When working with adapted lenses, you can manually select whether you want to use the camera's sensor-shift image stabilization or the lens's optical stabilization.

• Designed for video applications, it features Boost. I.S., a digital image stabilization technology that helps create a stable composition when recording from a fixed perspective.

• New Active Mode I.S. that corrects the camera movement when shooting while in motion. Additionally, a system E.I.S improved corrects the even greater camera shakes during racing situations.

Body design

• A high-resolution 3.68-million-dot OLED electronic viewfinder offers a clear 0.8x magnification along with a smooth interchangeable refresh rate of 60 fps or 120 fps.

• The large 3.0" LCD screen with 1.84 million dots provides a bright and clear medium for shooting with live view, as well as for playback and menu navigation. The screen features a free-angle design to accommodate working from high, low, and front angles, and its touchscreen design allows for intuitive control of settings.

• An 8-direction joystick and an easy-to-use menu design allow for quick and efficient operation.
