This new 50-400 mm F4.5-6.3 with image stabilization is a revolutionary zoom lens with an 8x zoom ratio never seen before, covering focal lengths from standard to those suitable for long-distance photography with 400 mm. Taking advantage of this new and revolutionary lens configuration, users can enjoy photographing a wide range of subjects, from stunning natural landscapes to wildlife, and can perform portrait, sports, and small group photography.

To ensure the best results, attention to detail is crucial from the first step, which is why this new optic has been designed, developed, and manufactured with strict and carefully implemented premises. The optical construction consists of 24 elements arranged in 18 groups. The effective use of special optical elements, including two extra-low dispersion (XLD) elements, three low dispersion (LD) elements, one glass-molded aspherical element, and one hybrid aspherical optical element, allows for almost surgical control of various unwanted aberrations, including axial chromatic aberrations. The TAMRON 50-400 mm VC Z-Mount also features Tamron's renowned and esteemed BBAR-G2 (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection Generation 2) coating, which minimizes ghosting and flare, capturing the smallest details of our session subjects, even in backlit conditions.

Precise, fast, and silent AF function, ideal for video

To meet the reality of new autofocus needs, this new 50-400 mm lens uses the VXD linear motor focus mechanism. It combines high-level AF speed and precision, allowing for quick and precise focusing from the minimum object distance to infinity. The excellent focus tracking performance for moving objects enables capturing sharp images even when photographing birds in flight and action sports. Additionally, the lens is extremely quiet, making it perfectly suitable for both still images and video capture in conditions that require silent operation.
