MeFoto's blue WalkAbout Air is a "twist" on the classic WalkAbout monopod design, which implements MeFoto's HyperLock system to reduce weight and simplify functionality.

Improving the monopole's ease of use, the HyperLock system reduces the number of locking knobs from four to only one. All that is needed to extend the foot of the WalkAbout is to rotate the foot, extend the leg and rotate the foot again to lock the leg to the desired height. When fully operational, the Walkabout Air can reach 59.1" and when completely collapsed folds to just 13.4" for transport or storage.

For those accustomed to traditional lock designs, don't let HyperLock's appearance fool you - the WalkAbout Air is capable of supporting up to 22.1 lb of solid camera gear - and weighs only 0.9 lb. The WalkAbout, as its name suggests, can even double as a cane for outdoor excursions. The top of the monopole is wrapped with a translucent silicone handle for this purpose only and an adjustable hand strap is included to ensure that the monopole and its strap are adjustable to ensure that the monopole and its strap are securely fastened.

Although the WalkAbout is designed for direct camera mounting, its 1/4" -20 mounting thread can be adapted for small headers or quick-release clamps if required. In addition, the anodized aluminum exterior of the top section is available in seven different colors and offers some daily wear resistance.
