The 17-70mm F/2.8 Di III-A VC RXD (model B070) is an extremely bright standard zoom lens for Sony's APS-C mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras. It was developed with the aim of achieving the best possible balance between a wide zoom range and high image quality. With a focal length of 17-70mm (equivalent to 25.5-105 mm in full-frame format), it is the world's first interchangeable lens with a standard 4.1x zoom and F/2.8 aperture for APS-C cameras. The 17-70mm is equipped with the VC image stabilizer developed by Tamron. The shortest focus distances of 19 cm at wide-angle and 39 cm at telephoto allow for impressive close-ups with smooth background blur. Whether portrait, landscape, or snapshot, this lens is ideal for capturing moments and details with the highest quality images.

Integrated image stabilizer for sharp photos and silent video recordings
The 17-70mm F/2.8 features Tamron's excellent VC image stabilizer. When taking handheld photos, it ensures optimal sharpness by effectively compensating for unwanted camera movements. This means that the lens's optical performance can be optimally utilized even when taking photos at slower shutter speeds, for example, at dusk or indoors. When recording videos, the VC technology uses artificial intelligence (AI) to ensure better image stabilization compared to conventional systems.

Fast and silent autofocus with RXD technology
The autofocus is based on an exceptionally quiet RXD (Rapid eXtra-silent stepping drive) stepper motor. The autofocus system also includes a sensor that continuously determines the lens's current focus setting. This ensures fast and precise automatic focus. The focus remains stable even with rapidly moving subjects. Thus, even in dynamic situations, photos taken with zoom come out sharp. The autofocus operates very quietly, so no annoying focusing noises are recorded during video recordings.
