FUJIFILM X-T5+XF18-55MM SILVER
Overview
Comparable in size to the original X-T1 and 50g lighter than its predecessor, the X-T5 features the latest high-resolution X-Trans 5 HR sensor with 40.2 megapixels for simply stunning results. Quick and easy to use thanks to its classic dial-based design, the camera boasts cutting-edge technology to deliver remarkable outcomes. This includes a seven-step in-body image stabilization system, a Pixel Shift Multi-Shot mode for 160-megapixel files, a three-way tilting LCD with 1.84 million pixels, and action-freezing shutter speeds of up to 1/180,000 seconds from the electronic shutter. In addition to its versatile set of photography capabilities, the X-T5 is also a highly capable filmmaking machine, recording up to 6.2K in 4:2:2 10-bit color internally or Apple ProRes RAW and Blackmagic RAW in 12-bit via HDMI.
Offering the highest image quality, the X-T5 features the class-leading 40.2-megapixel X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor in a compact and lightweight body that maximizes functionality and portability. The image performance is not compromised in any way by the camera's small proportions. Instead, the X-T5's enhanced image processing algorithm delivers outstanding results, packed with details across the entire native ISO range, which now extends to ISO 125. The classic X Series design has been preserved. Dials predominate, making key functions like ISO, shutter speed, and exposure compensation quick and easy to set, even with the camera turned off. The X-T5 is also comparable in size to the original X-T1 and 50g lighter than the X-T4. Despite this remarkable weight reduction, the X-T5 offers a new three-direction tilting 1.84-million-dot LCD screen and powerful in-body image stabilization.
The X-T5 delivers powerful imaging performance to ensure you are ready for action, no matter how fast the subject moves. A maximum electronic shutter speed of 1/180,000 seconds and a maximum mechanical shutter speed of 1/8000 seconds will stop any subject in its tracks, while a delay time of just 35 ms provides an almost instant response when the shutter button is pressed. Keep a finger down, and the X-T5 will capture images at up to 15 fps with the mechanical shutter or 20 fps with the electronic shutter. Either way, you won't miss any important moment. Of course, when the decisive moment arrives, you'll have our legendary color science and our popular selection of film simulations that digitize some of the industry's most iconic films and put them at your fingertips. The X-T5 adds the nostalgic negative film simulation, making it easier than ever to create images straight from the camera. For those who like to stay in the field longer, the X-T5 offers extended performance with the NP-W235 battery. Up to 740 frames can be recorded with a single charge, and the mechanical shutter provides an estimated 500,000 performances, offering long-term precision and reliability.
Thanks to the X-T5s's in-body image stabilization system (IBIS), camera shake that reduces quality will be a thing of the past, even in low-light conditions. The system operates on five axes, combating all types of camera movement, and provides up to seven stops of compensation to unlock unlimited opportunities. IBIS works in harmony with the camera's subject detection autofocus, which uses deep learning AI to expertly track animals, birds, cars, motorcycles, airplanes, and trains. Tracking moving subjects is made easier thanks to the detailed electronic viewfinder (EVF), which uses 3.69 million dots to provide a bright and vibrant display. The EVF offers a 0.8x magnification for an easy-to-see image that is further enhanced by improved parallax and distortion suppression compared to its predecessor. Meanwhile, the 100 fps refresh rate allows for virtually blackout-free image creation.
Following in the footsteps of the X-H2, the X-T5 features the impressive Pixel Shift Multi-Shot mode, offering more detailed files than ever before. This function uses the camera's IBIS system to precisely shift the sensor, automatically recording 20 separate frames with a single press of the shutter. The resulting files are combined using the Pixel Shift Combiner software to quadruple the camera's resolution and produce a richly detailed 160-megapixel file. Perfect for commercial applications or digital archiving, it is also ideal for any static subject where image quality is of paramount importance.
The capabilities of the X-T5s are enhanced by its powerful video functions, which complement the impressive performance of the camera's still images. Movies can be recorded internally at a speed of up to 6.2K / 30p in 10-bit 4:2:2 color, in addition to a 4K HQ mode that oversamples 6.2K footage for superior 4K output. Both F-Log and F-Log2 recording are possible, with the latter providing an expanded dynamic range of 13+ stops, and 12-bit Apple ProRes RAW and Blackmagic RAW can be output via HDMI to Atomos and Blackmagic devices accordingly.
