The URSA Mini Pro 4.6K G2 model represents a significant advancement compared to the original version, as it includes completely new electronics to enhance processing. It also features a Super 35mm sensor with 4.6K resolution, capable of capturing images up to 4608 x 2592 pixels, with a dynamic range of 15 stops and a maximum ISO value of 3200. This allows for recording at 120 fps with the full sensor and at 150 fps (DCI 4K) or 300 fps (HD 1080) by reducing the usable area of the sensor. Thus, the camera is ideal for capturing highly dynamic audiovisual material, nature images, sports, and much more.

On the other hand, the URSA Mini Pro 4.6K G2 model is capable of recording in Blackmagic RAW format, both in "Film" mode and "Extended Video" mode, making it ideal for high-end feature films, TV series, commercials, and independent films, as well as for news coverage and studio productions, even with multiple cameras.

Blackmagic RAW is an innovative codec that allows for capturing images without loss of information, while also offering extensive compatibility with various metadata and optimized processing through the use of GPU and CPU. It combines the quality and benefits of traditional RAW formats, in terms of workflow, with the speed and ease of use of conventional codecs. With Blackmagic RAW, users can apply a compression level of 12:1 and still achieve stunning images suitable for feature films, documentaries, and television programs. This is important as it provides the ability to use a high frame rate on the camera while maintaining the necessary quality for professional results.

Thanks to the fourth-generation color science developed by Blackmagic Design, footage shot with the URSA Mini Pro 4.6K G2 model shows accurate skin tones, with vivid and authentic colors comparable to those of much more expensive cameras. Additionally, the images are encoded using a 12-bit non-linear space designed to provide the maximum amount of color information with a wide dynamic range. These can be recorded on CFast and SD cards, or directly onto external drives via the USB-C expansion port.

The URSA Mini Pro 4.6K G2 model features an extremely robust design and a wide range of features. It includes everything the user needs in a compact body that has been designed from a magnesium alloy to offer greater lightness and durability. Additionally, it has a backlit LCD screen with great visibility that provides important information during filming, as well as a foldable touch monitor to supervise the quality of the shots without needing to use an external device. It also includes XLR and 12G SDI connections, stereo microphones, and a multitude of other features. There are various ways to access the functions, so even if a problem occurs, it's possible to continue recording.

The URSA Mini Pro 4.6K G2 model includes neutral density filters with infrared compensation that allow for a quick reduction of light entering the camera. These 2, 4, and 6-stop filters were specifically designed in combination with the camera's colorimetry to provide additional latitude, even in challenging lighting conditions. As a result, it is possible to use the aperture and shutter angle in different ways to reduce the depth of field or achieve a certain degree of motion blur across a wide range of situations. Additionally, the infrared filtering allows for achieving a true hue in wavelengths at that chromatic end of the visible spectrum or below it. It is also worth noting that these filters include a special mechanism to quickly position them correctly when turning the wheel.

Similar to television cameras, the URSA Mini Pro 4.6K G2 model includes buttons, switches, knobs, and selectors on the exterior of the unit that allow direct access to the most important functions. The controls are organized logically for ease of use. This way, the director of photography can operate the camera without needing to look at the buttons or take their eyes off the scene being recorded. This version also features a high-visibility display that provides important information, such as the timecode, shutter and lens settings, battery charge level, and volume intensity. The screen includes a backlight unit that makes it easy to view both in low-light environments and in broad daylight.

The URSA Mini Pro 4.6K G2 model includes an interchangeable EF mount that allows the use of high-quality photographic lenses. To shoot feature films or high-end commercials, you simply need to remove this mount and replace it with the optional PL mount. There is also a version available for high-definition B4 lenses. Additionally, this camera features a 12-pin Hirose connector for controlling the lenses.

The URSA Mini Pro 4.6K G2 model includes two slots for CFast 2.0 cards and two additional slots for SD or UHS-II cards, providing flexibility when choosing a storage medium. The former are ideal for recording in 12-bit Blackmagic RAW format, while the latter are more economical and suitable for Blackmagic RAW 8:1 or 12:1 options, as well as UHD or HD files. Additionally, with two slots for each type of card, recording automatically continues on the second unit when the first one fills up. It is worth noting that the cards can be swapped while the camera is recording.

The URSA Mini Pro 4.6K G2 model also features an innovative high-speed USB-C expansion port that allows for the connection of accessories such as external drives to record directly onto them for longer periods without interruptions. Additionally, these same units can be used during editing and color grading.

By including a full version of DaVinci Resolve, the URSA Mini Pro 4.6K G2 model offers a comprehensive solution for post-production processes. This application combines the most advanced color grading tools with professional non-linear editing functions, thus allowing you to edit the images captured with the camera, adjust the color, finalize the project, and deliver it. DaVinci Resolve Studio offers a workflow that facilitates the direct use of Blackmagic RAW files obtained in the post-production stage, without the need to convert them beforehand. In this way, the quality of each pixel is maintained. Furthermore, using this program allows for the rapid processing of audiovisual material recorded with the camera.
