When partitioning is enabled, the space created on top of a version 2 medium DSLR headunit or version 2 large DSLR headunit can be dedicated to a variety of items such as outdoor gear or packable clothing that can be reached quickly and convenient through the top opening of the backpack. A roll-top design allows the user to easily compress the backpack according to the specific amount of gear placed inside, which also serves to effectively seal in moisture and dust. When the backpack is tightly rolled up, the top can be secured with its integrated side release buckle closure. For use in inclement weather, a secondary zip closure is included along the top of the Action X50 backpack that also provides access to organizational pockets for items that need to be accessed quickly and conveniently, such as sandwiches,
Whether the Action X50 backpack is placed on the ground or on a flat surface, full access to a version 2 medium DSLR headunit or version 2 large DSLR headunit is provided by a flip-open zippered panel that faces the user's back . Along the inside of the rear-facing zippered panel is the Action X50 backpack's 15 "laptop sleeve. The backpack's front panel opens to reveal additional organizational pockets, as well as space for storing packable clothing and can accommodate a hydration pack while presenting a sip tube of the hydration pack to the right of the user.
The Action X50 backpack can be lifted via its built-in drag and side handles, and can be carried via its padded, adjustable shoulder straps that can be adjusted up or down for a better fit. A zipper along the outer edge of the strap that rests on the user's left shoulder opens a pocket for the smartphone, while the outer edge of the strap that rests on the user's right shoulder includes an extendable side pocket that can accommodate a tube of sunscreen, insect repellent, snacks, or a bottle of water. For heavy loads, this backpack's removable belt transfers weight to the hips for comfort, while the sternum strap further limits unintended shifting around the user.
With a durable nylon construction, the Action X50 Backpack is designed to be weather resistant. To further protect its contents in case the bag is placed on a wet surface, the bottom panel is waterproof.
