enro's universal L bracket is designed to help improve the stability of your camera when shooting in portrait mode. If you use a 3-way ball or head, when you move the camera to an upright position, return the camera so that it is no longer compatible with the tripod, it is now 'hanging' from the tripod head.
When using the L bracket, whether in landscapes or portraits, the camera always rests on the top of the tripod head, which improves stability and provides sharper images.
