Description

The Sony FE 16 mm f/1.8 G lens, an ultra-wide fixed focal length lens for Sony's full-frame mirrorless cameras with an E-mount, has established itself as a premium option for vlogs, as well as for landscape, architecture, and street photography. The two XD linear motors and the internal autofocus provide fast and efficient autofocus performance, as expected from a G series lens.

This lens not only supports autofocus at 120 fps, but its low focus breathing and compact design are a great advantage for video capture. The front lens element does not protrude like most wide-angle optics, allowing users to equip 67 mm threaded filters. For greater reliability against the elements, a dust and moisture-resistant design is provided, as well as a fluorine coating on the front lens element, making it easy to clean and resistant to water and oil contaminants.

Fast and Reliable AF Performance

The dual XD (Extreme Dynamic) linear motors help the FE 16 mm f/1.8 G achieve greater thrust for fast and precise focusing.

The internal AF allows the lens to maintain its short total length and helps it function more efficiently.

A bright f/1.8 aperture strengthens this prime lens's ability to create quality images in dimmer lighting conditions.

Conveniently Designed for Everyday Shooting

To complement the lens's ultra-wide field of view, a form factor is included that is designed to easily take it wherever you go.

A focus hold button, an AF/MF switch, and a physical aperture ring provide greater setup control at your fingertips so you can quickly make adjustments while capturing and not miss your shot.

Weighing only 10.7 oz, you can capture with this lens for extended photography sessions without tiring.

The front lens element accepts 67 mm threaded filters, further expanding its versatility by allowing the use of UV, ND, or any other useful filter in your arsenal.

Advanced Optical Design

To minimize field curvature and astigmatism, two advanced aspherical lenses are included. Additionally, to enhance overall image quality, three extra-low dispersion elements and one Super ED element are included, working together to produce images with impressive resolution, improved clarity, and minimized optical aberrations.
