This LEE100 polarizing filter from LEE filters helps reduce reflections and glare by filtering light that has been polarized due to reflection from a non-metallic surface while creating a warm mold over an entire image. This combined effect can be obtained under daylight when this filter is used in a film camera system with installed daylight film, or in a digital camera system with its selected daylight balance setting. Mounted within a durable and lightweight fiberglass frame, the LEE100 polarizing filter is designed to fit directly into the installed guide blocks of LEE filters LEE100 Holder filter, allowing it to be used without occupying any of the filter slots created for the Bloques guide.

Sunlight naturally becomes partially polarized due to the reflection of the electrons in the air molecules, causing the light to disperse in what appears as mist. A polarizing filter arranges, and filters, this directionally polarized light perpendicular to the reflected light, providing absorption of much of this light. This translates into a remarkable reduction in glare and reflections from non-metallic surfaces and an increase in saturation of the skies and foliage.
A circular polarizer only differs from a linear polarizer in that it contains a quarter wave plane, in addition to the linear polarizing filter. The addition of this quarter wave plane is to circularly polarize linearly polarized light for the use of auto focus and exposure functions. Due to how light is broken down and filtered with a linear polarizer, auto focus and exposure accuracy are skewed during use. When the light is circularly polarized, it allows the use of these functions.

For greater clarity and color fidelity, the LEE100 polarizing filter is constructed from optical glass and includes a padded bag for storage and transport.
