By facilitating the process of creating digital files from original film, Nikon's ES-2 film adapter set is an intelligent accessory for re-photographing negatives and 35mm slides. Designed to be combined with a macro lens, such as the AF-S Micro NIKKOR 60mm f / 2.8G ED, this adapter is placed on the front of the lens and holds the film at the minimum focusing distance from the lens to ensure critical sharpness.

Dedicated film holders for film strips and mounted slides are also included to help keep the film taut and to facilitate handling. While suitable for use with any camera, this adapter is especially suitable for the D850 due to its dedicated negative digitizer mode and the ability to automatically invert the colors in the camera to speed up the digitizing process
