Distinguished by its slim pancake format, the M.Zuiko Digital ED 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 EZ silver from Olympus is a versatile zoom equivalent to 28-84mm designed for Micro Four Thirds mirrorless cameras.

Despite its compact profile, this lens features an advanced optical design with aspherical, low dispersion, and high refractive index elements to achieve high sharpness and clarity throughout the zoom range. A ZERO coating has also been applied to individual elements to suppress flare and ghosting, achieving high-contrast images with accurate colors.

In addition to its optical design and compact size, the lens is also characterized by its electronic zoom mechanism, which allows for smooth and consistent zoom movements, and a Movie & Still Compatible (MSC) autofocus system, fast, silent, and precise, ideal for both video and photography.

The wide-angle to vertical length zoom is designed for Micro Four Thirds mirrorless cameras and provides a focal length range equivalent to 28-84mm.

Three aspherical elements and one Super High Refractive Index (S-HR) element are used to reduce spherical aberrations and distortion throughout the zoom range. An ultra-low dispersion element is also included to suppress color fringing and chromatic aberrations, thus improving color accuracy and clarity.

A ZERO (Zuiko Extra-low Reflection Optical) coating has been applied to individual elements to minimize lens flare and ghosting to improve contrast and color fidelity when working in strong lighting conditions.

The electronic zoom control uses a linear motor to produce smooth and spectacular zoom effects that complement your video recordings. There are also two zoom speeds available to suit different types of subjects and recording needs.

The Movie & Still Compatible (MSC) autofocus system benefits both photography and video applications due to its smooth, silent, and fast performance.

The pancake-type format measures just 0.9" thick and an electronic retraction feature automatically extends and retracts the lens when the camera is turned on or off.
