The 509HD is the result of a major technical evolution - the perfect synthesis between innovative bridge architecture and Manfrotto's latest generation engineering: Bridging Technology - an exclusive Manfrotto patent. A new bridge that enables the videographer and photographer to achieve even better results with today's high definition cameras.

The 509HD incorporates the FDS (Fluid Drag System) system based on fluid cartridges both in the TILT axis (inclination) and in the PAN (horizontal); the ergonomics of the controls have been significantly improved to make using the FDS even easier. Movement on the shafts is smoothed through the use of ball bearings that eliminate any unwanted vibration. All of this ensures an extraordinary level of control and excellent camcorder support, no matter what the situation, the shooting style, or the equipment used.

The 509HD is capable of supporting a maximum load of 13.5kg at 55mm C.O.G or 9Kg at 125mm C.O.G. and to perform counterbalance of 12.8Kg at 55mm C.O.G or 8.5Kg at 125mm C.O.G. The two 3/8 ”threads on the top of the platform allow direct mounting of accessories, such as monitors and arms, eliminating the need for extra clamps, saving setup time and freeing up the camera shoe for other accessories . The 509HD incorporates the ABR (Advanced Balancing Recorder) system to achieve maximum precision when mounting the equipment, ensuring a perfectly balanced position, saving time and making said operation much more efficient, precise and faster. The system can be balanced thanks to the Ø100mm hemisphere and the illuminated level bubble.

Systems are available with aluminum tripods with dual tube legs (with central stabilizer or flush with the ground) or with carbon fiber single tube leg tripods.
