The Ultralight L-Plate for Nikon D850 from Real Right Stuff is a low profile, lightweight design that is machined from a solid block of aluminum on a fixed L plate. The plate can be changed from a horizontal to a vertical position, without sacrificing the center of the shaft, while mounting on a tripod. The arc-compatible Milano tail plate adds fast-release functionality to the camera, and an anti-torsion pin prevents the camera from rotating on the L-plate.

The L-Plate maintains full access to the battery door and does not block the tilting screen of the camera, and on the port side of the L-Plate, it has been machined to allow access to all camera ports . A belt lead has been machined on the side, and the bottom of the plate includes a QD socket for quick disconnect belt systems. In addition, type II black anodizing has been applied to CNC machined aluminum 6061-T6 to give the L plate a durable smooth surface, and the plate has laser-engraved center marks on the back of each axis to line up on a head of tripod.
