The XF 16-55 mm f/2.8 R LM WR II lens from FUJIFILM is the second-generation standard zoom lens designed for mirrorless cameras with an X mount from FUJIFILM in APS-C format, offering a portrait and wide-angle range equivalent to 24-84 mm. This lens, characterized by its bright constant maximum aperture of f/2.8, has a proven ability to perform in challenging lighting conditions and shallow depth of field situations and now features enhanced resolution power for the latest 40 MP sensors from FUJIFILM, all with a significant reduction in size and weight.

Optical Design

Its optical design includes aspherical elements, extra-low dispersion elements, and a super extra-low dispersion element, all of which help reduce distortion and color fringing to improve sharpness and color accuracy throughout the zoom range. A fluorine coating has also been applied to protect the front element by repelling water, oil, and fingerprints.

• Three extra-low dispersion elements and one Super ED element are used to greatly reduce color fringing and chromatic aberrations in order to produce high clarity and color fidelity throughout the zoom range.

• Four aspherical elements control distortion and spherical aberrations, helping to improve sharpness and achieve more accurate rendering.
