Mixing a comfortable wide-angle design with an ultra-fast maximum aperture, the 16 mm f / 1.4 DC DN is part of Sigma.The contemporary lens series is designed for use with Canon EF-M-mount mirrorless cameras. Characterized by its bright maximum aperture f / 1.4, this lens is expert in working in low light conditions and also offers greater control over depth of field for selective focus control. The optical design uses several aspherical and low dispersion elements, which control the color stripes and various aberrations to provide high sharpness and clarity throughout the opening range. The individual elements also feature a Super Multi-Layer lining to suppress the flashes and phantom images for greater contrast and color fidelity when working in bright lighting conditions. As part of the Contemporary line within the Sigma's Global Vision series, this lens is designed to strike a balance between convenience and performance, and combines a compact, lightweight construction and versatile handling with remarkable optical attributes.
The wide angle angle is designed for Canon EF-M mirrorless cameras with APS-C format and provides a focal length equivalent to 25.6 mm.
The maximum bright aperture f / 1.4 excels in low light conditions and also offers greater control over depth of field to achieve selective focus effects.
Two special low dispersion elements (SLD) and three low dispersion elements F (FLD) reduce color stripes and chromatic aberrations to achieve greater clarity and color accuracy.
Two aspherical elements are used to limit distortion and spherical aberrations and also contribute to greater overall sharpness and accurate representation.
A Super Multi-Layer coating has been applied to the lens elements to minimize flash and phantom images of the lens and contribute to producing images with high contrast and neutral colors, even in backlight conditions.
A progressive AF engine benefits both photographers and videographers with its fast, accurate and almost silent performance.
The nine-leaf rounded diaphragm contributes to a smooth and pleasant bokeh quality.
