Canon EF 100mm f / 2.8L Macro ES USM Lens

Designed primarily for close-up shooting, Canon's EF 100mm f / 2.8L Macro IS USM is a short L-series telephoto lens that is also suitable for portraits and other mid-range subjects; however, as a macro lens, this 100mm offers a maximum magnification of 1:1 and a minimum focusing distance of 11.8". Complementing the close-up shooting is an Image Stabilizer that minimizes camera shake at two stops at 1 full: 1 magnification, or up to four stops at lower magnifications for shooting at two full stops: 1 magnification, or up to four stops at lower magnifications for shooting at two full stops: 1 magnification, or up to four stops at lower magnifications for shooting at one full stop.

An ultra-low dispersion (UD) element greatly reduces chromatic aberrations and color fringes for greater color clarity and accuracy.

Super Spectra coating has been applied to individual elements to minimize ghosting and glare for greater contrast and color neutrality when working in bright lighting conditions.

An optical image stabilizer helps minimize the appearance of camera shake to allow better work in low-light conditions and slower shutter speeds. The effectiveness of this system compensates for up to two camera shake stops with 1:1 magnification, three stops with 1:2 magnification, and four stops with lower magnifications.

An ultrasonic ring motor (USM) and an internal focusing design are used to provide fast, precise and quiet autofocus as well as full-time manual focus override.

The focus limit switch allows you to restrict focus to three different ranges for faster focusing performance: 11.8" -1.6', 1.6'-infinity and the full 11.8" range.

The nine-leaf rounded diaphragm contributes to a pleasant blurred quality that benefits from the use of shallow depth of field and selective focusing techniques.
