Ricoh GR III
The long-awaited delivery of the popular series of fast and compact cameras, the Ricoh GR III continues the legacy of being a pocket power, offering impressive image quality, a rapid response and immense portability. With a redesigned set of imaging features, the GR III incorporates a 24.2MP APS-C CMOS sensor and GR Engine 6 to obtain a smooth hue, intense color and high sensitivity of ISO 100-102400, along with the ability to produce high resolution 14 still images of bit DNG or Full HD video. Complementing the sensor design is an updated 28mm equivalent main lens, which features a bright f / 2.8 design, to adapt to everyday shooting with a wide and comfortable field of vision. In addition, for the first time for GR, a 3-axis shake reduction system compensates for the effects of camera shake to help obtain sharper manual shots when working with slower shutter speeds.
Physically, the GR III seems familiarly compact, but incorporates a redesigned control scheme to promote a larger and more comfortable grip while maintaining easy access to physical controls. A 3.0 "and 1,037m dot LCD screen is used for image composition, playback and menu navigation, and its touch screen design offers intuitive control along with Touch AF capabilities. In addition, Bluetooth LE and Wi - Built-in Fi can be used to pair a mobile device for fast and wireless transfer of files to your smartphone or tablet.
24.2MP APS-C CMOS sensor and GR 6 engine
With an updated design, a 24.2MP APS-C CMOS sensor is combined with a new GR Engine 6 to produce high resolution 14-bit DNG or JPEG images with impressive hue, natural color reproduction and high sensitivity of ISO 100- 102400 In addition to full-angle and full-resolution images, a couple of useful cropping modes (35 mm at 15 MP and 50 mm at 7 MP) allow you to simulate the appearance of working with longer focal lengths.
In addition to taking pictures, the GR III is also capable of recording Full HD 1080 video at frame rates of 60p, 30p and 24p.
Prime Wide Angle Lens
A fixed 18.3 mm fixed lens offers a comfortable wide-angle lens equivalent to 28 mm, which is complemented by a bright maximum aperture of f / 2.8 to accommodate work in a variety of lighting conditions. The optical construction incorporates six elements in four groups, including two aspherical elements that help reduce spherical aberrations and distortion to improve sharpness and accurate representation. Two focus modes are also adapted to work with general subjects, from 3.9 "to infinity, while a dedicated macro setting benefits working with foreground subjects within a range of 2.4-4.7". An internal filter with two effective stops (ND 0.6) is also available to decrease the shutter speed or allow working with a wider aperture setting, and the lens has a nine-blade diaphragm to contribute to a soft bokeh quality. Additionally,
Smoothie Reduction System
Highlighted for the first time in a GR camera, a 3-axis shake reduction system helps minimize the appearance of camera shake to promote sharper manual shooting at slower shutter speeds. The shake reduction system has been optimized for use with the built-in lens equivalent to 28 mm, which makes it smaller and more effective. In addition, the SR unit also offers moire reduction and dust removal capabilities.
Body design
The distinctive feature of the GR series has been its compact and pocket size, while retaining a large image sensor and a bright lens.
The integrated 3.0 "and 1,037 m dot LCD display features a capacitive touch screen design for intuitive and familiar operation during shooting, playback and menu navigation.
The camera's rear design has been completely redesigned and prioritizes a larger and more comfortable thumb grip along with easily accessible physical dials. In addition, the ADJ lever, FN button and Touch AF operations can be programmed to handle specific assignable functions for more personalized control.
The start time has been reduced to 0.8 seconds and the hybrid AF performance has been accelerated for a more fluid operation.
The integrated Bluetooth LE and Wi-Fi provide wireless connectivity between the camera and a paired mobile device, and allows you to embed location information within your files, as well as transfer files to your mobile device, even when the camera is turned off.
