This filter allows the user to produce soft and smoothed images with diffused highlight areas, in addition to clear and sharply focused images.

The Ricoh GR III HDF comes equipped with a built-in HDF (highlight diffusion filter). This gives you the option to capture soft and smoothed images that emphasize highlights and give images a nostalgic film look.

Looking for sharper and high-contrast images? No problem. The filter can be easily disabled so you can effortlessly switch between two completely different visual modes.

If it ain't broke!
The GR III HDF features the same 18.3mm f2.8 GR lens and the same 24.24 MP APS-C CMOS image sensor as the original to produce phenomenal image quality. With a 28mm angle of view (in 35mm format) and a fast maximum aperture of F2.8, this compact camera can produce clean and sharp photos, even in low light. A minimum focus distance of 6 cm also allows for some macro capabilities with a natural bokeh effect.

The GR III HDF weighs 257 g* and measures only 109.4 x 61.9 x 33.2 mm, making it a perfect camera for travel and street photography. The camera is capable of a fast start-up of 0.8 seconds, while the improved operability provided by the control dial and touch screen ensures you are always ready to capture that impromptu moment.

Perfect for low light conditions
The GR III HDF features a three-axis vibration reduction mechanism that offers 4 stops of stabilization. This helps when shooting without a tripod and/or in low-light situations. Contributing to this is an ISO range of up to 102400 ISO and the lens's F2.8 aperture, giving you immense flexibility in low-light environments. Furthermore, the minimization of flare and ghost images when shooting against the light, thanks to high-refractive, low-dispersion glass elements, allows it to perform well in both studio conditions and sunny days.

The GR III HDF combines contrast and phase detection autofocus to create a process with high-speed recognition and precise focus.

The GR III HDF features a 3" high-definition LCD monitor with approximately 1,037,000 dots with touchscreen operation for easy control and settings.

The Ricoh GR III HDF is capable of recording in Full HD (1920x1080 at 60p/30p/24p) and producing high-resolution images, with a 24.24 MP APS-C CMOS image sensor. The color gradation, saturation, contrast, and more of the image can be further adjusted through an image control function.
