NIKON D6 Body
Image's power
The D6 meets the needs of professionals who need the ultimate combination of speed and precision, whether broadcasting tough news or international sports. Thanks to Nikon's most powerful AF system and fast, real-time image transfer, this full-frame DSLR enables incredible images of decisive moments. It does not fail.
Create and deliver quality images without restrictions
Experience and planning pay off when the camera you are using can handle any eventuality. Overcome any extremes. Thanks to its new AF motor, EXPEED 6 processing, rugged body, and fast built-in camera connections, this DSLR lets you get perfect pictures anywhere. You cannot control the action, lighting, or surroundings. However, it is possible to control D6.
Constant focus
How is it possible to cover it all? The special AF motor is faster than ever. The full-selection cross-type 105 sensor array has 1.6 higher density coverage than D5. Group-area AF has more custom settings for exceptional tracking. The improved scene recognition system allows you to capture your subject on a new level. The D6 offers more ways to capture the action than before.
Get the winning photo
The widest range of group-area AF patterns that can be selected allows you to optimize your AF settings for any job. Avoid fixed obstacles, such as tennis nets, in your line of sight and get cleaner images of the action.
Give priority to the eyes
The D6 is the first DSLR to allow you to prioritize the focus on your subject's eyes when using auto-area AF or 3D tracking. Combine all of this with the widest, high-density coverage and you'll get that determined gaze from players.
Get ahead of the action
With the D6, you can set the focus start point when shooting in auto-area AF. Information from the 105 focus points is used to capture and track the subject. This way, you can freely focus on the frame.
Take superb photos in any light
Tracking is remarkably accurate, even in the most demanding lighting conditions imaginable. AF sensitivity down to -4.5 EV at the center focus point and -4 EV at all other points lets you follow the action at night.
Extreme speed and precision
In those moments when the action is fast and there's only one shot to get the picture, the D6 lets you work with burst speeds of up to 14 fps and enjoy full access to AF / AE. The camera's mirror mechanism has been redesigned to significantly improve bounce and get a sharper, more stable image in the viewfinder.
Silence and power
You can record full-resolution images at up to 10.5 fps with AE tracking in Silent Photography mode. You can also shoot time-lapse movies silently and capture photos with interval timer shooting. Images are taken with the electronic shutter, which prevents the mechanical shutter from wearing out.
High-speed frame captures
Do you want to show the movements of the movements? In movie live view, the D6 enables you to achieve 8MP still image sequences at 30fps and 2MP still image sequences at 60fps. Full AE tracking can be used at both frame rates.
It all starts with a great photo
When working on the razor's edge, the quality of the files coming straight from the camera is critical. The D6 provides images of exceptional purity and the new automatic white balance algorithm provides extraordinary color accuracy and lighter skin tones. The dynamic range is amazing, both at high and low ISO values. The winning photo is yours, whether it's inside the stadium or on the snow slopes.
Real-time views
Follow the action in real time, even when shooting at high speeds with a long-range lens. The 0.72x optical viewfinder with OLED elements allows you to confirm the subject with very precise definition, without any lag.
Rotation and roll indicators appear in the viewfinder.
Additional ways of selecting images for transfer are a bonus when every second matters. Use the main card slot to confirm focus on the largest JPEG + image, then switch to the second slot to quickly transfer small or medium-size JPEG images. Unwanted images can be erased from both slots at the same time.
