This Haida 100 x 150mm Red Diamond Soft-Edge 0.9 Graduated Neutral Density Filter is compatible with a Haida 100 or 100-Pro filter holder. Helps darken specific areas of an image, such as bright skies, while allowing normal, unaffected exposure in other regions of the image. The filter is densest at the edge and tapers to lighten in the middle, with a smooth-edged transition line between the dense and light areas. A neutral density filter with a smooth-edged transition line can filter the sky while minimizing its effect on the ground. This is particularly useful when the transition between the sky and the foreground is indeterminate, such as images with fog, mist, or the canopy of trees. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and this filter provides a reduction of up to 3 stops in the light entering a lens.
Haida Red Diamond filters are made of impact resistant optical glass. To prevent ghosting and internal reflections, while further enhancing clarity and color fidelity, each glass surface includes 10 layers of anti-reflective nanolayers. An additional 10 scratch resistant hydrophobic coatings further protect the substrate of a Haida Red Diamond filter and result in an enhanced pearl effect when its surfaces come in contact with water or oil, allowing for more efficient cleaning. Additionally, Haida Red Diamond filters feature rounded edges for easier placement within a compatible filter holder slot.
A metal box is included for storage and transport, as well as a gasket that blocks the light. This gasket forms a seal that is designed to prevent stray light, which could have unwanted effects on exposure, from getting between the filter and the lens behind it.
